In-House MNC seeking In-House Legal Counsel in Hong Kong office

This company is a subsidiary of one of the leading Europe's oldest and largest trade fair organisers.

With a portfolio of 30 trade fairs in eight major cities, the company provides high-quality platforms for companies wishing to expand or improve their business in China and Asia.
Responsibilities

* Give legal advice and support to the group and its affiliates on various legal matters mainly covering the Asia Pacific Region.
* Diagnose legal needs of the company, establish, implement and ensure legal compliance process, update on legislative and regulatory requirements affecting the group operations.
* Draft and negotiate all legal documents in relation to corporate mergers, acquisitions, joint venture/partnership arrangements, strategic investments, and any commercial law matters.
* Conduct and supervise due diligence examinations of acquisition targets and prepare reports for the board of management.
* Work closely with all internal departments and overseas offices to draft, discuss and finalize general business agreements and contracts, provide legal support in relation to employee/labour law, employment contracts and non-compete agreements etc, and handle general litigation matters of the group.
* Maintain relationship and manage outside counsels who provide the primary support to the company for all business-related matters.

Requirements

* Degree holder in Laws (LL.B.).
* Qualified lawyer or in-house lawyer in Hong Kong with minimum 7 years’ post-qualification experience (PQE) in international law firms or MNC with strong presence in Asia Pacific, preferably with extensive experience in M&A transactions.
* Strong knowledge of PRC law and background of exhibition or service industry is an advantage.
* Excellent drafting skills, professional presentation and report writing skills.
* Excellent negotiation, communication, interpersonal and organizational skills.
* Excellent command on both written and spoken English, Cantonese and Mandarin.
* Details-oriented, enthusiastic, assertive, strong sense of responsibility and impeccable integrity.
* Willing to travel overseas.
