Description
Manage business development initiatives for the Firm’s Hong Kong, Beijing and Shanghai (“Greater China”) offices and assist the Business Development Department (the Department) in implementing Firm-wide marketing initiatives. Assist management by proposing and coordinating marketing initiatives for the Greater China offices that meet the overall goals of the Firm and profile raising. Facilitate business development requests with the Department for individual partners, practice groups, and industry teams.
Responsibilities
1. Strategize with partners to identify and implement growth strategies for the Asian practice, to plan and direct on specific client development opportunities and relationship management with a particular focus on growing our representation of Chinese State Owned Enterprises (“SOE’s)
2. Act as a liaison between partners in Asia and the Business Development Department for creation, supply and distribution of collateral materials including firm brochures, client pitch books, RFPs, attorney bios, PowerPoint presentations, attorney/group transaction lists, and client pitches/meeting follow-up
3. Liaise and communicate with the US for implementing marketing strategy to support our expansion plan and business development in Asia
4. Assist in the evaluation and implementation of Firm participation in sponsorships and community programs relating to the Asia offices
5. Oversee, coordinate and assist in executing the firm’s internal and external events or programs as well as Firmwide marketing projects
6. Partner with outside organizations and associations when appropriate to raise visibility for the Firm and develop relationship-building opportunities for Asia partners
7. Set up, coordinate (and attend as appropriate) meetings with prospective and existing clients, including Chinese SOE’s
8. Communicate office activities through the firm's Website and internal communications vehicles such as The Source and SilasNet
Requirements
* Bachelor’ Degree in Marketing, Communications, English or Journalism
* At least 8 years of experience in professional services or marketing firm with at least 2 years at a managerial level; legal industry is preferred, but not essential
* Strong written and verbal communication skills in English with excellent interpersonal and communications skills
* Mature and detail-oriented who is able to work independently with minimal supervision;
* Proficient in PC skills, internet web search and MS Office Suite including Word, PowerPoint, Excel and Outlook (or related e-mail system)
* Proven knowledge and application of marketing theory and practice in a professional services industry
* Creative, innovative, dynamic, well-organized and result-oriented
