B&F and M&A Practice Support Lawyer - Precedent

Part-time contract

An exciting opportunity exists in our Hong Kong office for working in the teams of Banking & Finance and Mergers and Acquisitions with a focus on drafting precedent content, know-how capture, business development and training.
Responsibilities

Position summary

To provide professional support to the B&F and M&A teams with a focus on drafting precedent content, know-how capture, business development and training.



Key accountabilities

- Drafting and reviewing precedents and transaction documents;

- Designing and delivering training sessions to the practice group in the use of the firm’s legal resources including precedents, Poolroom and Dealbooks;

- Compiling, monitoring and maintaining content for Mallesons Help, Poolroom and Dealbooks;

- distributing quarterly Updates and Email Alerts;

- Drafting and reviewing “how to kits” for the teams’ intranet pages and other relevant work product;

- Monitoring developments in the law and the industry relevant to the Banking & Finance and Mergers & Acquisitions teams;

- Reviewing key developments and analysing those issues that may have an impact on the practice;

- Developing and delivering presentations on legal and regulatory developments;

- Assisting with drafting articles, briefings, newsletters or updates to be circulated externally relating to legal and regulatory matters of interest to clients;

- Assisting with ideas and/or content for client presentations.



A Precedent Lawyer would be expected to:

- Present at internal professional development programs to enhance development of others;

- Be aware of, and up to date with industry related issues and developments to enhance personal performance;

- Actively be involved in industry related issues and developments to enhance the development of the practice;

- Assist with the performance of project teams, coaching and mentoring team members to ensure performance excellence;

- Coach others, act as a role model, demonstrating the standard internally and externally.
Requirements

Knowledge, skills & experience

Essential

- Bachelor of Laws or equivalent;

- Admission to practice as a Solicitor;

- Transactional experience at a mid/top-tier firm in Hong Kong ; and

- Demonstrated ability to write legal (and other) documents in plain language Desirable

- High level research skills.

- Applied knowledge and skills in technology.
