The Hong Kong office

Located in the prestigious building, our Hong Kong office is in the heart of central Hong Kong’s main financial and business district. The area is home to the best and most exclusive shops in Hong Kong, yet only two blocks away from fascinating local markets.
Responsibilities

The role

* An associate in Hong Kong's Financial Services Regulatory team.
* You will be (1 - 4)

1. - part of a large team that is a recognised market leader in this field in Hong Kong
2. - working with recognised specialists at all levels
3. - working for a variety of clients, including international investment banks, commercial banks, private banks, fund/asset managers, brokers, listed companies, listed company directors, bankers, traders and others who operate in Hong Kong's securities and futures markets
4. - working on highly complex and challenging matters, contentious and non-contentious

* May include working with members of our market leading corporate and capital markets team in Hong Kong and Greater China in relation to significant (and often high profile) deals/transactions

Requirements

What we are looking for

* At least 3 years post qualification experience with a top-tier firm
* Ideally, a financial services background, with experience of working with / advising the types of clients listed above. Experience in handling regulatory investigations and proceedings will be an advantage
* A good understanding of the Hong Kong financial services regulatory framework l Must be Hong Kong qualified.
* Fluency in written and spoken English and Chinese (essential). Fluency in both Cantonese and Mandarin an advantage.
* A smart, sensible and driven team player

* Deal with a wide variety of individuals in a fast-paced environment
* Evidence an ability to communicate well, build trust and develop strong relationships at all levels
* Have a strong eye for detail, and be able to digest difficult concepts and facts quickly
* Be able to convey difficult points and concepts succinctly and clearly, verbally and in writing l Be able to handle pressure, prioritise and manage competing demands and expectations
