Responsibilities
* Research: analysing new law and practice, researching points of law or directing fee earners to appropriate sources
* Providing critical analysis and insights into new legal developments that show the practice area's leading-edge technical capability to clients and the market
* Anticipating new legal and practice developments and the technical issues associated with them, and assisting the practice to prepare itself and its clients for the new developments
* Supporting the maintenance of the specialist library and legal know how materials. Maintaining reference files for the use of the group to ensure that everyone has access to key documents
* Organising and liaising with fee earners and contributing as required to the production of articles, briefings, newsletters or other materials for circulation to clients or to be published in selected journals
* Contributing to training sessions aimed at briefing fee earners on changes to law, practice and precedents
* Playing a part in producing material for seminars both internally and externally
* Liaising with central Information Services team and library staff
* Contributing to and managing various parts of the firm’s Intranet and information provision services
* Brainstorming ideas
Requirements
* Law degree
* 3 – 4 years PQE
* Prior experience as PSL not necessary but experience in legal practice in practice areas strongly preferred
* Excellent research skills
* Strong writing, drafting and communication skills
* A proactive mindset
* Effective project management skills
* Good IT skills
* Self confidence and maturity
